Job DescriptionThe University of Florida and the Norman Fixel Institute are seeking rising star faculty researchers to fill full‑time endowed faculty positions at the Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor level, with appointments on the tenure or non‑tenure track.
Ideal candidates are late‑stage Assistant Professors or Associate Professors who have demonstrated early success in establishing independent research programs, including securing independent grant funding, and who are ready to launch the next phase of their academic careers. Positions offer dedicated research space and generous start‑up packages. Researchers in clinical, translational, or foundational science fields are encouraged to apply.
Applicants will join a campus dedicated to interdisciplinary care and neuromodulation with a fully functioning clinic, specialized in Parkinson’s disease, movement disorders, Alzheimer’s, ALS, traumatic brain injury, multiple sclerosis, and related diseases. The institute collaborates closely with the McKnight Brain Institute, the Center for Translational Research in Neurodegenerative Diseases, and UF Health’s Neuromedicine Hospital.

Responsibilities- Establish and lead a high‑impact research program aligned with the institute’s mission.
- Secure and manage extramural grant funding.
- Collaborate across disciplines within the campus clinic and partner institutes.
- Publish in high‑impact journals and contribute to the university’s research reputation.
- Mentor students and junior faculty.
- Hold an M.D., D.O., M.D.
-Ph.D., or Ph.D. in a related field. - Scholarly focus in one or more of the following areas:
Parkinson’s disease, dystonia and other movement disorders;
Alzheimer’s disease, memory and dementia; ALS and other neuromuscular disorders; traumatic brain injury; multiple sclerosis. - Demonstrated early success in research and grant acquisition.
- Ability to work collaboratively in an interdisciplinary environment.
- Success in obtaining extramural funding.
- Clinical or translational research experience.
