Job Description

Academic Advisement and Student Programs Coordination Function: responsible for coordinating graduate student advisement/counseling in CISE, managing the flow of work for graduate advising offices, overseeing registration for departmentally controlled courses and exams, processing change of degree forms, assisting in drop/add processes, providing graduation checks, managing course substitution and petitions, conducting exit interviews and satisfaction surveys, planning departmental student events, designing printed materials, and assisting with data collection for evaluation.

Data Analysis And Reporting Function: develop electronic databases and paper files of graduate students, prepare reports for Directors and Coordinators, provide information for graduate fellowship and assistantship appointments, maintain student databases, oversee annual student evaluations, compile and analyze statistical reports on enrollments and retention, manage graduate student records, disseminate university and college policy, manage flow of reports to program directors, ensure SPEAK test requirements, maintain TA database, and record Graduate School Fellowship awardees.

Recruitment And Application Processing Function: actively recruit qualified graduate students, design recruitment and mentoring programs for minority students, liaise with the College of Engineering and other university offices, oversee graduate application processing, coordinate screening, admission committee evaluation, and financial aid decisions, manage graduate student files, update policy manuals, and design printed materials for the community.

Academic Program Development Function: assist Graduate Coordinator with program development, coordinate new degree program efforts, interpret rules and policies, recommend improvements, update SASS, attend curriculum and graduate affairs committees, and respond to inquiries about academic programs.

Academic Program Activity Functions: represent the Department at university events, manage room scheduling, handle correspondence, telephone calls, mail, and miscellaneous duties to support the department.

Responsibilities By Level
  • Level I:
    Master's degree in education, counseling, or an academic field related to the college OR Bachelor's degree with one year of relevant experience.
  • Level II:
    Master's degree with one year of relevant experience OR Bachelor's degree with two years of relevant experience.
  • Level III:
    Master's degree with two years of experience OR Bachelor's degree with three years of experience.
Salary
  • Level I: $47,000 - $50,000
  • Level II: $51,000 - $55,000
  • Level III: $56,000 - $62,000
Required Qualifications
  • Level I:
    Master's degree in education, counseling, or an academic field related to the college OR Bachelor's degree with one year of relevant experience.
  • Level II:
    Master's degree with one year of relevant experience OR Bachelor's degree with two years of relevant experience.
  • Level III:
    Master's degree with two years of experience OR Bachelor's degree with three years of experience.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master of Science preferred.
  • Experience in advising and counseling students.
  • Experience in developing and maintaining electronic databases.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Working knowledge of University of Florida regulations and procedures.
