General responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
  • Be the primary caregiver to campers' social, emotional, and physical needs
  • Supervise youth aged 6-16 day and/or night and guide them around camp in accordance with their daily schedule
  • Support instructors during hands‑on activities and assist in behavior management throughout the day and night
  • Oversee and manage cabin cleanliness, conduct a daily cabin inspection, and report any repairs that need to be made to the Assistant Camp Director
  • Contribute to and work during evening programs
  • Lead group recreational activities
  • Help with housekeeping responsibilities
  • Attend and actively participate in all staff trainings and meetings
  • Work cohesively with fellow team members
  • Set a positive example for all participants, including cleanliness, punctuality, language, sportsmanship, and respect
  • Follow all camp rules and regulations, including those of appropriate attire and no smoking, vaping, or use of alcohol or illegal drugs
  • Encourage and show respect of personal property, camp equipment, and facilities
  • Appropriately communicate issues as they arise to the Camp Directors
  • Assist in other duties as assigned by the Camp Director and Assistant Director
Salary

$15/hour, plus room and board during summer camp

Minimum Requirements
  • Desire and ability to work with youth and adults in a camp setting
  • Attend paid staff training, consisting of hands‑on, in‑depth training in youth development and supervision, behavior management, the experiential learning process, and other tools for a successful program
  • Ability to accept and adapt to guidance and supervision
  • Must be willing to obtain American Red Cross certification in CPR/FA/AED
  • Background screenings are required At least 18 years of age by start date
Preferred Qualifications
  • Driver's License
  • American Red Cross certification in CPR/FA/AED
  • Experience working with youth in a supervisory capacity
  • Experience exhibiting responsibility and reliability
Special Instructions to Applicants
  • Meals are provided during camp events
  • On‑site lodging provided as available Aug‑May, and full lodging available during summer camp season
  • Camp staff work schedule will depend upon the programs they are helping with, which can include weekend and/or weekday work activities. Summer camp programs are typically Mon‑Fri, with 24‑48 hours off on weekends.
  • Interviews for these positions will be via Zoom. Candidates selected for an interview will be contacted via email with additional details.
  • Hiring will be on a rolling basis, as programs happen throughout the year, with summer needing the highest number of staff. From Sept - May, work will depend upon the education and rental groups that have booked programs. Summer camp training and programs run from mid‑May through the end of July.
