Program Coordinator, Collegiate Veterans Success Center

Military-Connected Student Outreach and Engagement

Coordinate outreach and engagement strategy that increases awareness of CVSC resources, programs, space, student organizations and opportunities for prospective, incoming, current, online, and graduating military-connected students.

Supervise peer mentoring, student advisory, ambassador, volunteer, and/or student employment initiatives, including recruitment, onboarding, training, scheduling, coaching, and recognition for student assistants supporting the CVSC area.

Conduct targeted outreach at key transition points, including admission, orientation, return from deployment or military leave, academic milestones, graduation, and post-graduate transition.

Serve as a point of contact for military-connected students and families seeking information about University resources, transition, engagement, academic success, wellbeing, career development, and community support.

Develop accessible and timely communications across digital platforms, presentations, tabling, campus events, and partner channels to promote CVSC resources and opportunities.

Plan, implement and assess programs, workshops, recognition activities, peer connections, and signature events that foster community, resilience, leadership, and engagement, synthesizing student feedback to identify needs, reduce barriers, and recommend program or service improvements.

Expand outreach through relationships with military installations, veteran-serving organizations, alumni, employers, families, and community partners.

Create opportunities for military-connected students and others interested in supporting this community to participate, lead, volunteer, and mentor through CVSC initiatives.

Refer education-benefit questions to the designated School Certifying Official or responsible office unless separately designated and trained to perform certification duties.

Program Coordination, Experiential Learning, Career Design, and Campus Partnerships

Design and coordinate the development, logistics, delivery, and evaluation of CVSC programs, workshops, mentoring initiatives, leadership experiences, and collaborative events.

Incorporate experiential learning through defined learning outcomes, meaningful responsibilities, reflection, feedback, and opportunities for students to demonstrate and articulate their learning.

Develop and facilitate educational programs and resources that strengthen campus understanding of military-connected student experiences, needs, resources, and effective referral practices.

Collaborate with campus and community partners to connect students with career exploration, professional networks, internships, employment, graduate education, and other post-graduate pathways.

Maintain collaborative relationships with campus and community partners supporting admissions, financial aid, veteran education benefits, academic success, accessibility, wellbeing, career development, housing, legal services, alumni engagement, and community resources.

Represent the Student Engagement and CVSC at assigned at partner meetings, resource fairs, committees, various events, and professional development opportunities.

Maintain accurate and accessible resource guides, referral protocols, websites, contact lists, and partner communications.

Coordinate assigned collaborations with Veterans Affairs, state and federal contacts, veteran-serving organizations, and community partners under the direction of leadership.

Develop resources and activities that help students translate military service and campus involvement into transferable leadership and career-readiness competencies.

Manage program calendars, reservations, vendors, purchasing documentation, marketing, staffing, accessibility, risk-management requirements, and post-program evaluations.

Research best practices and recommend approaches that strengthen military-connected student engagement within the UF context.

Support evening, weekend, and campus-wide events, as assigned.

Student Support, Resource Navigation, and Student Organization Advising

Advise assigned registered student organizations, student leaders, and organization advisors on operations, leadership transitions, membership engagement, event planning, budgeting, risk management, and University policies.
