Position: Facilities Electrical Engineer (31953)

In this role, we are looking for a facilities electrical engineer to work on projects that enable the heart of our client’s semiconductor‑based manufacturing operations.

Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with client owners and on‑site personnel in a fast‑paced environment to support projects of varying size and complexity.
  • Assess systems, consult system owners, and analyze scope requests from stakeholders.
  • Design, develop, evaluate, and prepare recommendations with basis of design (BOD) and scope of work (SOW) documents.
  • Prepare design, construction, and specification documents through the programming process.
  • Oversee engineering and construction for facility power distribution (up to 13.8 kV), grounding, lighting, emergency and standby generation, life safety, and fire alarm systems.
  • Handle retrofits of existing building systems as well as new systems.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related ABET‑accredited discipline.
  • At least 10 years of engineering design experience for building electrical systems, including distribution to end use.
  • Solid knowledge of NFPA 70, 70E, 72, 101, 110, building codes, energy codes, and related standards such as IEEE and ASHRAE.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and prioritization skills with leadership experience.
  • Proficiency in specifications and selection of electrical equipment and hardware.
  • Working knowledge of PLC, DCS, and other control applications.
  • Experience reviewing vendor submittals against client requirements and specifications.
  • Field experience interacting with subcontractors and construction personnel.
Preferred Qualifications
  • EIT or Professional Engineer (PE) licensure.
  • 5 years of experience as a facility engineer.
  • Knowledge of instrumentation & controls deliverables such as P&IDs, I/O lists, and wiring diagrams.
  • Experience with control panel design, including UL 508A requirements.
  • Proficient in electrical modeling software (e.g., SKM PTW, ETAP, Easy Power).
    Proficient in design software such as AutoCAD, Revit, or BIM
    360.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
  • Forward‑thinking, eager to learn best practices, and contribute innovative ideas.
  • Passion for buildings and construction.
Other Requirements
  • This is an on‑site position requiring work at the client site in Wilton, CT.
  • Candidate must be willing to commute Monday‑Friday during normal business hours (default 8:00 AM–5:00 PM). The schedule may be flexible as needed.
  • Position requires field visits and walks on an active client site at various construction stages.
  • Applicant must be able to walk long distances, stand, sit for extended periods, bend, twist, climb ladders, and work in small spaces; lift and carry up to 25 lb.
  • Applicant must complete a background check, drug screen, and be fully authorized to work in the U.S. Jacobs does not sponsor or continue a visa for this position.

Salary Range

$ – $ per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
