Electrical Design Engineer 2 (H/F) – SAFRAN SEATS USA LLC
Safran is a global high‑technology group operating in aerospace, space and defense. SAFRAN SEATS, a leading aircraft seat manufacturer, designs and produces seats for airlines worldwide.
MissionAs a member of the Safran Seats business, you will play a major role in teamwork that delivers over one million seats to major airlines. Your work supports the needs of passengers and crews through superior quality, comfort and innovation.
Essential Functions (Duties and Responsibilities)- Read wiring schematics and system block diagrams.
- Understand basic AC/DC theory.
- Communicate effectively with multiple organizations, including customers, on projects.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical systems.
- Work independently with little supervision.
- Check engineering packages and generate/revise specifications.
- Ensure successful completion of assigned project phases within budgeted time and cost constraints.
- Review specifications related to assigned jobs and prepare checklists.
- Prepare layouts and check all detail drawings created by drafters.
- Review drawing packages to confirm conformance to requirements and submit completed drawings to project lead for approval.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Education & Qualification – B.S. in Electrical Engineering, EET, MET, ME, Aerospace Engineering or equivalent technical degree, or 12 years of related experience in lieu of a degree.
- Work Experience – Minimum 2 years of related experience.
- Professional Skills – Competent user of CAD (Pro‑E, Catia V5) and data management systems. Knowledge of electrical installation and system integration principles. Ability to produce detailed layouts and program design studies. Basic understanding of manufacturing processes. Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Behavioral Skills – Ability to interact successfully with engineering and manufacturing departments and function as part of a design team.
- Desirable Skills – Experience with CATIA V5, Smar Team 8D Awareness (Problem Solving Methodology).
