Overview
Experienced in managing high-dollar outpatient service accounts, ensuring accurate financial reimbursement and seamless authorization processes for complex procedures. Skilled in end-to-end referral processing, registration, precertification, point-of-service collections, and Epic financial workflows. Provides thorough financial counseling, calculates patient responsibility, and secures required payer approvals through detailed clinical submissions and peer-to-peer coordination. Serves as a key representative for the Financial Division on cross-functional teams, offering financial insight to support treatment and scheduling decisions.
QualificationsMinimum Education and Experience Requirements
- Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
. - College degree or related coursework preferred
.
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Experience:
- Minimum 1 year of experience as a financial specialist/counselor or
- 3 years of related experience in a comparable role.
- Knowledge &
Skills:- Working knowledge of medical and insurance industry terminology is required.
- Proven ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously
, adapt to changing priorities, and make timely, accurate judgment decisions. - Strong communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with healthcare professionals.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Proficiency with computer applications and demonstrated ability to work across multiple systems
. - Exceptional verbal, analytical, and written communication skills.
- Must be adaptable, tactful, and able to work well under pressure.
- Ability to perform effectively under stress, including during critical or unusual situations.
- Must understand the importance of a “first impression” role and maintain appropriate professional dress, attitude, and demeanor.
- Employees in this position will not operate vehicles for assigned business purposes.
- Note:
A frequent driver is defined as an individual who uses a personal or UF Health vehicle:- at least once daily,
- or at least five individual trips per week,
- or averages over 150 miles per week for work purposes.
