Responsibilities
  • Prepares meals for members which meet their individual needs and for guests.
  • Ensures quality of prepared food items and meal service to patients, with safety and sanitation as a priority.
  • Follows safety and sanitation policy and procedures, completes cleaning assignments, cleans equipment, and follows all safety rules.
  • Supports proper food storage, preparation, and service in accordance with sanitation policies.
  • Prepares the member’s plate and checks items to assure they meet diet prescriptions and individual needs as directed by Nutrition Care Specialist.
  • Prepares appropriate hot or cold food in a timely fashion for meal service.
Qualifications And Requirements
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • One-year related experience and/or training in healthcare setting
  • Experience preparing therapeutic diets
  • Ability to read and write and follow written instructions; effective communication skills
  • Ability to read and understand recipes
  • Empathetic, energetic, and able to work with a diverse senior population
  • All applicants must complete and pass a Level II Background Check and Drug Screening
