The PED Technician functions under the direction of nursing services and as directed by department nursing staff. The PED Technician provides care for patients in accordance with physician orders, policies, procedures, established standards and administrative policies. Provides direct and indirect patient care while adhering to the mission and objectives of the hospital in order to meet the healthcare needs of patients and families.
The PED Technician will be responsible for collecting pertinent data within their certification scope of practice and will report all clinical and psychosocial findings to the RN and ED Attending. The PED Technician provides clinical support to achieve the organization's mission of excellent patient care and nursing's vision of setting a new standard of excellence in autonomous and accountable nursing practice committed to patient advocacy and innovative patient care in a climate of trust and collaboration.
- Provide care for patients in accordance with physician orders, policies, procedures, established standards and administrative policies.
- Provide direct and indirect patient care while adhering to the hospital s mission and objectives.
- Collect pertinent data within their certification scope of practice and report all clinical and psychosocial findings to the RN and ED Attending.

- Current certification as EMT-Paramedic in the State of Florida required.
- Specialty certifications required upon hire: BLS; ACLS.
- One year Paramedic experience preferred.
- Demonstrated clinical skills in pre-hospital and critical care transport preferred.
- High School Diploma or GED, graduate from an approved Paramedic Program required.
- Licensure/Certification/Registration: EMT-Paramedic certification in the State of Florida.
- Motor Vehicle Operator Designation:
Employees in this position will not operate vehicles for an assigned business purpose.
