Position: Lab Charge Integrity Analyst| Lab Admin| Variable| Part Time

Overview

This position functions as a central hub for Laboratory Billing. It serves as a touch point for Revenue Integrity, Beaker IT, Compliance, and Revenue Cycle. It will oversee all lab billing operations functions, including auditing current billing processes, staying up-to-date on laboratory billing best practices and reviewing daily work queues. Responsibilities include leading, planning and coordinating billing operations for laboratory services across the hospital system, designing, implementing and enforcing policies and procedures, and streamlining effective billing processes.

Qualifications

Minimum

Education and Experience Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in a business-related field (e.g., Business, Management, Finance, Accounting) or Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology is required. Ideal candidate will possess an MBA/MHA degree or be enrolled in an MBA/MHA degree program. Three to five years of post‑baccalaureate experience, preferably in a hospital/healthcare environment. EPIC and Beaker trained, and Six Sigma yellow/green belt preferred. Must be able to work independently, but also within small teams from other departments to plan and coordinate charging and billing activities.

Knowledge of CPT‑4, ICD‑10 coding, CCI edits and modifiers is preferred. Previous lab‑specific charging and billing experience preferred. Must be comfortable using multiple computer systems/applications, able to perform large quantities of data entry quickly and accurately and possess the ability to quickly learn and recall a variety of billing processes. General knowledge of laboratory accessioning and specimen collection procedures is strongly desired.

Motor Vehicle Operator Designation:
Employees in this position will operate vehicles for an assigned business purpose as a non‑frequent driver. (A frequent driver is defined as one who uses his/her personal or University of Florida Health automobile a) at least once daily, b) at least five individual trips per week or c) drives, on average, over 150 miles per week in the performance of his/her job.)
