Job Title

Audiology Faculty Position (Assistant or Associate Professor)

Job Description

The Department of Speech, Language, and Hearing Sciences (SLHS) at the University of Florida is recruiting one (1) Audiology faculty position at the assistant or associate professor rank. This full‑time (1.0 FTE), tenure‑track, 12‑month position is expected to start in Fall 2025. Successful candidates will demonstrate expertise in any area of audiology or hearing sciences, with a preference for research or clinical practice that emphasizes psychoacoustics, cochlear implants, medical audiology, and/or hearing conservation.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate a commitment to excellence in teaching, mentoring, research, and service in a dynamic academic health‑center environment. The department is committed to hiring and supporting candidates who will contribute both collaboratively and independently to externally funded research. Candidates will be principal investigators of extramural funded research projects or demonstrate potential to develop such a record. Candidates will be expected to teach upper‑division undergraduate and graduate‑level courses that support audiology and hearing sciences, and will also engage in a range of service activities including student mentorship and participation on departmental and college committees.

SLHS is one of eight departments in the College of Public Health and Health Professions (PHHP) and is well integrated within the UF Health Science Center, offering faculty a wealth of opportunities for scholarly collaborations. The department offers three degrees:
Doctor of Audiology (AuD), Master of Arts in Communication Sciences and Disorders (speech‑language pathology), and Bachelor of Health Science in Communication Sciences and Disorders. Faculty members have access to a college‑level instructional design team that provides expert support in course development and delivery.
