Job Summary The Clinical Equipment Tech supports patient care by ensuring mobile clinical equipment is clean, functional, available, and appropriately distributed across patient care areas. This role performs routine rounding, equipment cleaning and disinfection, inventory checks, basic troubleshooting, documentation, and customer support for clinical staff. The position partners with nursing, clinical leaders, and Biomedical Services to help maintain equipment readiness, support par levels, and escape equipment concerns appropriately.

Associate degree or technical training in biomedical equipment technology, electronics, healthcare technology, or a related field preferred. - Preferred Experience:
One (1) year of experience in a healthcare, medical equipment, logistics, equipment distribution, environmental services, or customer service support role preferred. Experience handling, cleaning, distributing, or troubleshooting medical equipment is preferred.
Skills and Abilities
Experience with medical equipment and basic equipment functionality. Strong attention to detail with the ability to maintain accurate documentation and records. Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with clinical staff, patients, and visitors. Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to complete rounds and tasks with minimal supervision. Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced healthcare environment. Knowledge of equipment cleaning, disinfection, and infection prevention standards.
Basic troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify issues early and elevate appropriately. Ability to work independently while contributing effectively as part of a team. Ability to provide basic guidance and customer support regarding equipment operation, handling, and availability. Demonstrated commitment to customer service, patient-centered support, and adapting to changing operational demands.
- Conduct regular rounds on clinical units to distribute, retrieve, clean, disinfect, stock, and inspect fleet medical equipment.
- Ensure proper par levels are maintained and escape shortages as needed.
- Follow infection prevention, cleaning, disinfection, and safety protocols per OEM and NGHS standards.
- Perform routine inspections to verify cleanliness, functionality, and readiness for use.
- Identify, troubleshoot, and elevate equipment issues, including damaged, malfunctioning, or missing equipment.
- Utilize equipment tracking systems and CMMS to document equipment movement, inventory status, maintenance needs, service requests, and inventory activities.
- Monitor equipment utilization and recommend redistribution to optimize availability.
- Monitor soiled and clean equipment rooms in clinical areas.
- Respond promptly to equipment requests from clinical staff.
- Assist end users with basic operational questions and proper equipment handling practices.
- Support inventory audits, equipment counts, and asset verification.
- Collaborate with nursing staff, clinical leaders, Biomedical Services, and other departments to resolve equipment-related issues.
- Participate in departmental meetings, training programs, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Maintain flexibility to support operational needs across multiple units, departments, or campuses as assigned.
