Lead Valet Attendant – $14/hr + Tips – UF Shands & Hotel Eleo
Lead Valet Attendant position at Towne Park, located at UF Shands & Hotel Eleo.
Job Details- Compensation: $14 per hour plus tips. Actual compensation based on job‑related skills, experience, education or training, and location.
- Work Schedule: AM/PM shift.
- Benefits: Accident insurance, critical illness insurance, hospital indemnity insurance, telemedicine benefits, and 401(k) retirement plan. Eligibility depends on job classification, length of employment, and hours worked; seasonal and temporary roles are not eligible.
- Job Type: Part‑time.
- Maintain a pleasant, friendly, and professional demeanor with guests, staff, and coworkers; greet guests within 30 seconds of arrival; participate in “The Show” and deliver “Aggressive Hospitality.”
- Open all vehicle and hotel doors for guests; check them in, explain parking procedures, park and retrieve vehicles while driving slowly and safely.
- Use proper phone etiquette; assist with room presentation, item delivery, and pickup; provide directions, taxis, reservations, and other inquiries; maintain detailed knowledge of the facility and local attractions.
- Promote teamwork; lead the group in guest service; assign routine roles and adjust staffing under the direction of the Account Manager.
- Issue claim checks after receiving vehicle keys; secure keys on a belt clip or in a locked key box; maintain accurate ticket information.
- Ensure no “lift” services to guests; check and clean wheelchairs; protect confidentiality according to HIPAA; safeguard financial and identifying information.
- Assist the Account Manager in building work schedules, notifying associates of changes, collecting revenue, completing cash drop slips, shift reports, and reconciling tickets.
Education: High school diploma or GED.
Required Licensure, Certification, Etc.:
- Minimum 18 years of age; must pass criminal background, MVR, and drug screen.
- Must complete Towne Park’s Wheelchair Safety Training course.
Work Experience: Six (6) months related experience and/or training; OR equivalent combination of education and experience.
Knowledge: Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
Skills:
- Drive manual transmission.
- Speak, read, and write Standard English.
- Read and comprehend simple instructions and memos.
- Write simple correspondence.
- Present information effectively to guests, clients, and associates.
- Apply reasoning and understanding to carry out instructions.
- Mathematical skills: add, subtract, multiply, divide 3‑digit numbers; perform basic operations with American money.
- Understand 24‑hour and military time systems; understand rates applicable to time passed.
The job is fairly routine; incumbent follows established practices; decisions are made within operational instructions and departmental guidelines.

Working Conditions & Physical Demands- Talk or hear; sit or stand for extended periods; may run, walk, handle objects, reach, climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- Vision requirements: close, distance, color, peripheral, depth, and focus.
- Lift up to 100 pounds occasionally, 50 pounds frequently, 20 pounds constantly.
- Work outdoors for extended periods; subject to extreme heat or cold; may be exposed to temperature changes.
