The College of Journalism and Communications (CJC) Human Resources Department is seeking an experienced and motivated Human Resources Manager to support the HR Director and college leadership. This position plays a vital role in managing HR operations that directly support faculty, staff, and students across the college.

Key

Functions and Responsibilities
  • Lead a welcoming, thoughtful onboarding process that reflects CJC's culture of care and connection.
  • Manage the annual CJC Faculty Orientation and Quarterly Staff Orientations, ensuring new colleagues feel supported from day one.
  • Serve as a search advisor.
  • Manage immigration processes for faculty pursuing permanent residency with accuracy, empathy, and attention to detail.
  • Manage appointment actions via ePAF, ensuring clarity, compliance, and a smooth experience for departments and employees.
  • Manage the college‑level Tenure and Promotion process, ensuring fairness, transparency, and timely communication.
  • Maintain databases and coordinate compensation for sabbatical awards, evaluations, and faculty programs.
  • Ensuring timely completion of faculty and staff evaluations.
  • Supervising the Human Resources Generalist I.
  • Overseeing CJC rewards, recognition, and service awards programs.
  • Supporting employee relations matters, including terminations.
  • Monitoring compliance across the college community.

Normal Work Schedule
