Director of Analytic Services for Institutional Planning and Research and Associate Provost
The University of Florida (UF) invites nominations and applications for this senior leadership position. The role is pivotal in shaping UF’s data strategy, institutional effectiveness, and evidence‑based decision‑making for a leading public research university.
Key Responsibilities- Oversee all functions of Institutional Planning & Research, including data governance, reporting, analytics, dashboards, projections, and survey administration.
- Serve as UF’s University Data Administrator for the Florida Board of Governors, AAUDE Liaison, IPEDS Keyholder, and Academic Analytics liaison.
- Ensure the integrity, quality, accessibility, and strategic use of institutional data.
- Provide rapid, accurate responses and strategic analyses for senior administration.
- Lead the development of new reporting capabilities, dashboards, predictive models, and analytical tools (Tableau, SAS, SQL).
- Drive data stewardship and policy compliance, ensuring alignment with FERPA, public records requirements, and external reporting standards.
- Oversee a $1.1 M departmental budget and secure handling of confidential student and personnel data.
- Recruit, supervise, and mentor a high‑performing institutional research team.
- Manage relationships and methodological alignment with federal, state, and national higher‑education data bodies.
- Support academic program review, assessment, general education, degree program changes, and other academic processes through targeted data analyses.
- Shape the long‑term direction of UF’s institutional research capabilities.
- Master’s degree in a relevant field.
- Six years of related experience in institutional research or data administration.
- Doctoral degree or advanced quantitative experience preferred, including 6+ years of leadership in R1 universities.
- Extensive knowledge of university academic, administrative, and business processes.
- Expertise in statistics, research methods, predictive modeling, and modern IR tools (SAS, Tableau, SQL).
- Superior communication skills, able to convey complex information clearly to senior leaders.
- Strong collaborative abilities across diverse academic and administrative units.
- In-depth understanding of federal and state higher‑education reporting requirements and data governance standards.
- Compliance with UF’s financial and vendor‑processing rules.
- Subject to federal and state privacy regulations, including FERPA and Florida Public Information laws.
