The Office of Criminal Conflict & Civil Regional Counsel, First DCA Region is seeking a full‑time attorney in our Gainesville, FL office who will handle a criminal case load in the Eighth Judicial Circuit. The qualified applicant should have a minimum of three (3) years’ experience in Criminal Defense and must be a member in good standing with The Florida Bar.
The Attorney will represent clients in various types of court hearings, including jury trials, non‑jury trials, and motion practice, and should be able to cover cases on multiple dockets. Representation duties include client interviews, witness interviews, preparing witnesses for trial, research and writing legal documents and filings, and providing an ongoing assessment of the merits of a case. The position is a full‑time State of Florida position with attendant state benefits and a salary range commensurate with the applicant’s experience.
