Mission & Responsibilities- Support deployment and use of Lean Sigma tools across SSUSA.
- Facilitate and lead one Safran workshops across SSUSA.
- Plan and lead SSUSA-level Lean Sigma projects that enhance company competitiveness.
- Ensure CI projects are on schedule and meet customer expectations.
- Make presentations to review project status as required.
- Provide timely internal reports to management (bi‑weekly presentations, monthly project reports, quarterly reports).
- Mentor Lean Sigma Green Belts to increase autonomy in executing Lean Sigma methodologies.
- Deliver Lean Sigma Green Belt training to Safran employees.
- Serve as instructor of CI courses that teach personnel how to assess, identify and improve their own needs.
- Develop and document best practices as standard work.
- Provide benchmarking and best‑practice research.
- Share best practices with CI department team members.
- Implement and ensure teams comply with health, safety and environmental measures to maintain team integrity.
- Optimize overall product flow and layout of the site.
- Work under general supervision of the Continuous Improvement Manager of SSUSA and collaborate with other members of the SSUSA CI team, Seats and Group Safran+ and other members of the Safran Lean Sigma community.
- Education:
Bachelor Degree in engineering or business administration; OR an Associate's plus 3 years relevant work experience; OR 6 years directly related work experience. - Work Experience:
Minimum 5 years relevant experience, including at least 3 years in process improvement. Lean training from Shingo Institute, Shingijutsu, or other recognized program or company. Lean Six Sigma Green or Black Belt certification from a recognized institution;
Green Belt certified or external Black Belt certified must pursue Safran Black Belt Certification. - Professional
Skills:
Excellent knowledge of Lean Sigma, process improvement and problem‑solving methodologies. Expertise in at least one of the following functional areas of Continuous Improvement:
Office Lean Training, Lean Sigma Engineering, Lean Sigma/Continuous Improvement (DFLSS, DFMA, VAVE, etc.), Supply Chain/Fabrication Lean Sigma/Continuous Improvement, Quality/Manufacturing Lean Sigma/Continuous Improvement. Expert communicator, motivator, facilitator, trainer, and leader. Ability to organize complex thoughts into cohesive, simple messages. Proven ability to influence all organization levels without direct authority. Proven track record of generating bottom‑line results. Strong English speaking and written communication skills.
Understanding of P&L and balance sheet impact. - Behavioral
Skills:
Demonstrated leadership at the Manager (or similar) level; ability to build strong working relationships with individuals from shop floor to executive level across all departments and cultural backgrounds. Strong time‑management skills and ability to hold teams accountable and take corrective action. Ability to interface, communicate and collaborate with team members from multiple facilities, countries and cultures. Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
