Cooperidge Consulting Firm is seeking a Neurology Registered Nurse (RN) for a top Healthcare client.
This specialized role is responsible for delivering high-quality, patient-centered care to individuals with neurological conditions, utilizing established nursing models to provide personalized, comprehensive, and compassionate treatment. The RN acts as a vital advocate for patients and families, collaborating with the medical team to ensure outstanding patient experiences and positive clinical outcomes within the specialty department.
Job Responsibilities- Assess the neurological and general condition of the patient during admission and each shift, promptly identifying and reporting subtle changes in status.
- Perform procedures, monitoring, and other functions ordered by medical providers, ensuring thorough and timely documentation in the medical record.
- Administer prescribed medications, monitor the patient for therapeutic and unintended responses, and take appropriate clinical action.
- Educate patients, families, and caregivers about the medical condition, treatment plan, and follow-up measures, translating complex neurological terminology for clear understanding.
- Provide exceptional care by responding promptly to patient requests and proactively anticipating patient needs and concerns.
- Act as an advocate for patients, families, and caregivers, embodying the organization's vision, mission, and values.
- Collaborate effectively with the interdisciplinary care team to follow established nursing models such as "Assess, Perform, Teach, and Manage."
- Associate Degree in Nursing or RN Diploma is Required.
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing is Preferred.
- Minimum of one (1) year of RECENT (within the last 4 years) Acute Care RN experience is required.
- Prior experience in a Neurology or Neuro-Med Surg unit is highly desirable (implied by the job title).
- Currently licensed as a Registered Professional Nurse in the state(s) of practice and/or holds an active compact license, in accordance with law and regulation.
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
- Proven ability to make clinical assessments and manage care autonomously in alignment with the "Assess, Perform, Teach, and Manage" model.
- Strong professional communication and patient advocacy skills.
- Ability to translate complex medical terminology for patient and caregiver education.
