American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Adult Emergency Department position at a high-volume academic medical center, requiring Level I/II Trauma Center experience and a Florida or Compact RN license.
Details- Adult Emergency Department at a high-volume academic medical center
- 12-hour night shifts (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM) on a variable day schedule
- 36 hours per week
- Weekends and holidays required
- No block scheduling
- Floating required with flexibility essential
- Active FL RN license or Compact RN license required at time of consideration
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
- PALS or ENPC certification required
- TNCC certification preferred
- Minimum 3 years of Emergency Department RN experience required
- Most recent 12 months of experience must include an academic medical center (preferred) or a Level I or Level II Trauma Center in a major metropolitan area
- Minimum 1 year of travel nursing experience required
- Recent experience in a Level I or Level II Trauma Center required
- Recent EPIC EMR experience required
- No employment gaps greater than 30 days without explanation
- Minimum of 1 professional reference dated within the last 12 months
- One of the highest-volume Emergency Departments in the country

- Unit Manager interview required as part of the hiring process
- All new RN hires must complete a specialty-specific competency exam and an EKG exam including rhythm mapping and interpretation
- Minimum passing score of 80% on each exam with 100% identification of lethal rhythms required regardless of overall EKG score
- Candidates who do not meet the EKG competency requirement will complete additional remedial training beyond Day Two of orientation
- Review of cardiac rhythms prior to start is strongly recommended
- RTO blackout dates apply: 11/26-11/28, 12/24-12/25, and 12/31
- No RTO permitted during the first 2 weeks of the assignment
- Maximum of 10 days RTO allowed for the 13-week contract
- Unplanned time off may result in contract cancellation if missed shifts are not made up
- Local candidates accepted
- 50-mile radius rule applies for local rate eligibility
