Job DescriptionThe University of Florida Veterinary Hospitals is a 40,000 sq foot newly built hospital at the World Equestrian Center (WEC), a high‑profile equine facility in Ocala, 30 minutes south of Gainesville. UF Veterinary Hospitals at WEC provides Equine sports medicine, rehabilitation, and diagnostic imaging services and Small Animal primary care and urgent care services. We are seeking a strong communicator who is interested in developing advanced imaging skills across multiple modalities, including radiography, standing MRI, CT, Positron Emission Tomography (PET) scanner, and ultrasound, as well as patient care and surgical nursing skills.
Responsibilities- Assist with patient scheduling and ensure image reports are finalized and distributed timely and effectively.
- Obtain high‑quality radiologic imaging of patients for interpretation by a radiologist.
- Maintain cleanliness of imaging areas and perform equipment maintenance and inventory management.
- Communicate effectively, demonstrate critical thinking, and maintain professionalism in a changing environment.
- Instruct veterinary students and technicians in imaging acquisition, technical skills, and medical treatments and procedures as directed by veterinarians.
Required:
- Credentialed veterinary technician or credentialed in a diagnostic imaging field.
Preferred:
- Experience in veterinary diagnostic imaging.
- At least two years of relevant work experience loading, unloading, restraining, handling, and treating horses and small animals.
- Excellent horse handling skills and experience, with no medical conditions that preclude entry into a high‑field MRI suite.

Expected Salary:
Non‑Credentialed: $18 - $25
Credentialed: $20 - $28
Salary based on experience

Required:
Must be able to lift up to a minimum of 40 lbs, bend, kneel, pull, push, twist, and stand for an extended period of time.
This is a full‑time, benefited position and is considered essential personnel. A post‑offer health assessment and background check will be required.
