. The position is based within the Morrison Healthcare division of Compass Group.
The Quality Assurance Manager is responsible for developing and maintaining all QA programs to meet USDA, FDA, and customer requirements, ensuring the quality and safety of supplied goods. A strong knowledge of Preventive Controls for Human Food and experience with FSMA is essential.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and execute product food safety and quality programs to support operational excellence and customer satisfaction.
- Maintain the Food Safety Plan and implement corrective actions to address deficiencies.
- Ensure compliance with HACCP, GMP, sanitation preventive controls, supply‑chain preventive controls, and all prerequisite food safety standards per USDA, FDA, FSIS, FSMA, and corporate requirements.
- Understand facility process flow and engage personnel in all areas of food safety and quality.
- Manage the Allergen Preventive Controls Program, ensuring accurate allergen labeling and preventing cross‑contact.
- Oversee the written recall program and ensure traceability of incoming raw materials and finished products through lot‑code tracking.
- Lead and coordinate all food safety audits conducted by government and third‑party agencies.
- Address customer safety and quality concerns promptly.
- Minimum of 6 years of experience in Quality Assurance and Food Safety in a manufacturing setting.
- Experience in prepared foods manufacturing a plus.
- Proficient in HACCP program development; FSMA knowledge is mandatory.
- HACCP certification, Preventive Controls for Human Food (PCQI), and GFSI auditor certification required.
- Strong understanding of third‑party and GFSI audit scheme programs and standards.
- Knowledge of FDA and USDA/FSIS regulations and industry practices.
- Experience developing and motivating personnel.
- Career achievements in meat, poultry, seafood, processed foods, distribution, or private‑label product development an advantage.
- B.S. degree in food technology, food science, or related field.
- Strong communication skills, both technical and non‑technical.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and related software.
- Data management, reporting, and technical writing skills.
