Job Description:
Dr. Xiao Fan's laboratory ((Use the "Apply for this Job" box below).) in the Department of Biomedical Engineering at the University of Florida has a fully-funded postdoctoral associate position. Fan Lab aims to understand genetic causes of rare human diseases using case-control association studies, and improving interpretation of genetic variations using machine learning methods. Research projects will involve study design, data acquisition, method development, data analysis, and software/database maintenance.
Expected Salary:
Salary will commensurate with experience and will follow NIH guidelines.
Minimum Requirements:
- PhD in computer science, statistical genetics, bioinformatics or related quantitative subject.
- Experience with high performance computing
- Experience with deep learning modelling
- Experience with bioinformatics projects
- Relevant publications in peer-reviewed journals
- Ability to mentor junior team members
- A strong background in programming (e.g. python or R)
- Demonstrated experience with machine learning modelling
- Interest in learning biological/genetic concepts
- Excellent communication skills
