Post-Doctoral Associate in modeling human diseases in the nematode model Caenorhabditis elegans
The Bai lab is seeking a highly motivated and creative postdoctoral fellow to join our research group. You will contribute to exciting projects centered around modeling human diseases in the nematode model Caenorhabditis elegans. Our current research focuses on unraveling the intricacies of disease genes associated with lipid droplets, lipid metabolism, development, germline development, and mechanotransduction.
Responsibilities- Design and conduct experiments to model human diseases in Caenorhabditis elegans.
- Utilize genetics, live imaging, imaging analysis, molecular biology techniques, and CRISPR/Cas9 gene editing methodologies.
- Publish findings and communicate results to colleagues and broader audiences.
- Contribute to the lab’s educational and mentorship environment.
- Ph.D. or equivalent degree in genetics, cell biology, developmental biology, bioinformatics, or a related field.
- Strong publication record demonstrating research productivity and independent experiment design.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in genetics, imaging, molecular biology techniques, and CRISPR/Cas9 gene editing.
- Prior experience working with Caenorhabditis elegans.
