Essential Functions
  • Understand that safety is the number one priority and practice safe behaviors in everything they do.
  • Maintain a high level of awareness on the sales floor to create a safe and secure shopping environment for everyone; keep egress during emergencies clear and report unsafe conditions or practices to Store Leadership.
  • Treat all customers and associates with respect and courtesy; be friendly and professional at all times.
  • Assist customers in any way necessary, including register handling, merchandise assistance, and providing knowledge in a polite manner. Greet customers with eye contact and a smile, and say "thank you" with each register transaction.
  • Provide prompt and efficient responses to customers at all times; handle all customer issues courteously and call Store Leadership when needed.
  • Represent and support the company brand at all times.
  • Perform cleaning tasks: sweeping, mopping, dusting, wiping counters and mirrors, replenishing restroom supplies, and disinfecting high‑touch areas to maintain merchandise and space quality.
  • Maintain a professional appearance and adhere to the company dress code at all times.
  • Perform daily assigned sizing and recovery to keep the store neat, clean, and organized according to best practices.
  • Expedite newly received merchandise receipts to the sales floor with urgency, merchandising all items per company guidelines and maintaining brand familiarity within departments.
  • Understand the Loss Prevention Awareness program, Shortage Highway, Store Protection Specialist (SPS) position, and merchandise protection standards.
  • Demonstrate integrity and honesty in all interactions with associates and customers; safeguard confidential information, cash, credit card information, and merchandise.
  • Follow all Mark‑Out‑of‑Stock (MOS) policies, properly process each piece, and notify Store Leadership for approval of disposals.
  • Follow all cash, check, charge card, and refund transaction policies and procedures, maintaining accuracy when handling bankable tenders.
  • Demonstrate a sense of urgency and execute store best practices while minimizing steps and touches in the workflow.

Qualifications and Special Skills Required
  • Effectively communicate with customers, associates, and store leadership in a friendly, respectful, cooperative, and pleasant manner.
  • Perform basic mathematical calculations commonly used in retail environments.
Physical Requirements / ADA
  • Use all store equipment, including PDTs, registers, and PC as required.
  • Spend up to 100% of working time standing, walking, and moving around the store.
  • Regularly bend at the waist, squat, kneel, climb, carry, reach, and stoop.
  • Occasionally push, pull, and lift more than 25 pounds.
  • Use janitorial equipment, rolling racks, ladders, and other assigned supplies.
  • Certain assignments may require other qualifications and skills.
  • Associates who work stockroom shifts regularly push, pull, and lift more than 20 pounds.
