This postdoctoral research associate will join an interdisciplinary team working on medical image analysis, neuroimaging, and neuroscience. The position is based in the Developmental Network Neurobiology Lab in the UF School of Medicine, in collaboration with the UF Artificial Intelligence initiative.
The role includes vendor-sponsored hardware and software engineering support as part of a partnering collaboration with industry-based collaborators.
- Contribute to ongoing projects involving structural and functional MRI (fMRI) of developing children and clinical conditions such as autism, traumatic brain injury, diabetes, epilepsy, and others.
- Build a large-scale foundation model from brain MRIs and neurobehavioral data and deploy these models for real-world applications, including characterizing brain developmental processes, discovering brain aging mechanisms, and identifying pathologic markers across neurologic and developmental disorders.
- Harmonize several public and private datasets (e.g., NDA/INDAR, HCP, ADNI, OASIS, ABCD) to support model deployment with broad impact across clinical and neuroscientific disciplines.
- Engage in cutting-edge training and on-the-job learning as part of the project requirements.
- Minimum:
Ph.D. in Neuroscience, Computer Science, or a related Neurobiology field. - Strong foundation in artificial intelligence applications and experience with functional MRI and functional connectivity MRI (data acquisition, preprocessing, analysis) is preferred.
- Experience in high-dimensional computer science using data-driven techniques (graph theory, ICA, machine learning), and experience with other imaging modalities (DTI; MEG) and multimodal integration is desirable.
- Familiarity with AFNI/SUMA, SPM, FSL, Free surfer, UNIX/Linux environments and/or programming skills (MATLAB, R, C++, Java, Python) is desirable but not required.
