Solar Impact is searching for a skilled Journeyman Electrician to become a valuable member of our team in Gainesville, FL. This position involves handling electrical tasks connected to the upkeep, servicing, and setup of solar power systems for residential and commercial customers. The ideal candidate will possess the ability to carry out inspections, evaluate electrical systems, and interpret blueprints effectively.
Requirements / Qualifications- Proficient in wiring, common electrical tools, and various electrical components.
- Completion of an electrical apprenticeship program.
- Minimum of 3 years of prior electrical and construction experience.
- Journeyman certification strongly preferred.
- Valid certification as a Journeyman Electrician or equivalent experience.
- Familiarity with the NEC.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical blueprints accurately.
- Capable of working safely at heights, including on roofs and ladders, while following OSHA safety regulations.
- A valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and insurability for driving company vehicles.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team effectively.
- Meeting attendance requirements consistently.
- Successful completion of a background/MVR check and pre-employment physical and drug screen.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Attention to detail in all tasks.
- Proficiency with computers, particularly MAC/iOS systems, is preferred.
- Previous experience in solar and/or roofing is a plus.
- OSHA 10 certification is preferred.
- Experience as a crew lead is preferred.
- Demonstrate Solar Impact Core Values in all assigned duties.
- Follow all Solar Impact policies and procedures.
- Perform installation of electrical equipment following NEC guidelines.
- Utilize various tools and techniques for maintaining and repairing electrical systems.
- Employ expertise to determine best practices for new electrical systems installation.
- Provide mentorship and supervision to apprentice electricians.
- Ensure full adherence to safety requirements and OSHA regulations.
- Collaborate efficiently with a team to complete solar installations.
- Maintain tools and components in installation vehicles in an organized manner.
- Participate in safety, electrical, and solar installation training sessions.
- Maintain a safe and well‑organized work environment.
- Communicate professionally and positively with customers.
- Evaluate completed projects for areas of improvement.
- Work overtime, nights, weekends, travel, and meet project deadlines as needed.
