- Provide case management and individual advocacy to all Victims of Crime Act (VOCA) clients and their families within the UF Child Protection Team (CPT) catchment area.
- Offer evaluation and crisis counseling as needed for VOCA clients.
- Generate reports and release medical results to appropriate agencies.
- Deliver face‑to‑face information and referrals to local resources for counseling and/or medical needs.
- Follow up on all VOCA cases; act as a coordinator of clinical programs by assisting medical staff with evaluations of alleged abused and/or neglected children.
- Participate in a rotating on‑call schedule to provide emergent services to VOCA clients 24/7 and provide coverage to satellite offices as needed.
- Provide victim compensation forms and assist families in completing them.
- Serve as an intake coordinator for CPT, participating in phone calls vetted from the Department of Children and Families, Law Enforcement, UF Health Medical and Social Work staff, and other community partners.
- Complete referrals in a statewide database or internal electronic file system, synthesizing information from multiple agencies and databases.
- Triage cases based on established criteria to determine the best possible scheduling option and review prior cases on families to determine current risk level.
- Provide detailed yet concise clinical case information to the multidisciplinary team and enter data accurately in the statewide database.
- Utilize knowledge of Florida State Statute Chapter 39 and work closely with the medical director to consult on cases and exceptions to mandatory reports and referrals.
- Schedule needed assessments for families involved in Department of Children and Families and Law Enforcement investigations across multiple clinic sites using shared Microsoft Outlook calendars, notifying all community partners of appointment dates and times, and completing rescheduling of appointments.
- Attend community meetings within the UF CPT catchment area, including Partnership Council meetings and Human Trafficking Task Force meetings.
- Maintain client records in accordance with program requirements and follow up with community partners to ensure completion of all services and documentation.
- Gather additional information from partners to assist with case closure and participate in peer review and case staffing as needed.
- Track and record all VOCA cases and services provided to VOCA clients, traveling to outlying areas for court testimony as required and for training school‑age children.
- Master's degree in an appropriate area; or a bachelor's degree in an appropriate area with two years of relevant experience.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
- BA or MA degree in psychology, social work, nursing, or another behavioral science.
- Completion/certification in APSAC Forensic Interviewing training within one (1) year of employment.
- Completion of VOCA Victim Advocate designation training within one (1) year of employment.
- At least two (2) years of experience working with children and families (required), with one (1) year involving work with abused and neglected children.
- Familiarity with the Florida Child Welfare system.
- Critical thinking to prioritize daily tasks and duties.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and navigation of multiple job‑specific databases.
- College‑level writing skills.
- Ability to multitask and type 35 characters per minute.
- Perform effectively under stress during emergency, critical, or unusual situations.
- Handle periodic pressures and responsibilities.
- Make independent judgments without supervision.
- Make generalizations, evaluations, or decisions based on sensory or judgmental criteria.
- Collaborate with people beyond giving and receiving instructions.
- Adaptability to perform a variety of duties, often changing tasks without loss of efficiency.
- Dedicate twenty (20) hours of continuing education per year during employment.
$54,000–$57,000 annually
