Job OverviewUF Information Technology (UFIT) is seeking an entry-level software developer to join the UX & Portal Solutions team. The role focuses on delivering user‑centered digital experiences for the University of Florida community through the ONE.UF responsive web portal and mobile app.
Responsibilities- Collaborate within an agile team to continuously improve how constituents interact with the University.
- Design, develop, test, and deploy full‑stack web applications using React and Node.js.
- Develop mobile experiences through responsive web apps and React Native applications.
- Stay current with application development trends and apply creative solutions to challenges.
Associate’s degree (or high school diploma/equivalent) and two years of relevant experience. Appropriate college coursework or vocational/technical training may substitute at an equivalent rate for the required experience, but does not negate the minimum degree requirement(s).
Preferred Qualifications- At least one year of experience with web or mobile app software development, UX principles, or software testing and quality assurance.
- Experience with JavaScript frameworks such as React, React Native, Vue.js, Angular, and/or Node.js, along with HTML and CSS.
- Familiarity with APIs – REST, Graph
QL, and/or SOAP. - Understanding of best practices for software development, including security, accessibility, version control, and development standards.
- Ability to thrive in a collaborative, agile environment and adapt to change.
UF provides competitive salary ($61,000–$63,000) and a comprehensive benefits package, including paid vacation, sick leave, holidays, personal leave days, and paid family leave.
