LANIER TECHNICAL COLLEGE - PART-TIME FIRE SCIENCE LAB ASSISTANT - HALL CAMPUS
Lanier Technical College – ((Use the "Apply for this Job" box below).) is conducting a search for the following part-time, non-benefits eligible, FLSA non-exempt position.

Under general supervision, instructs and supervises students in the Fire Science Technology program. Assists in the delivery of program and course outlines, goals and objectives; evaluates students’ progress in attaining goals and objectives; ensures safety and security requirements are met in the training area; work schedule and instructional location will be coordinated through the Program Director.
MAJOR DUTIES- Assist faculty members with classroom instruction, exams, record keeping, adherence to safety procedures, tracking attendance and other miscellaneous tasks related to instruction
- Tutor or mentor students
- Assist with skill checkoffs
- Prepare and clean labs as needed
- Obtain materials needed for classes, including texts and other materials
- Assist with special projects or initiatives as needed
- Ability to research technical issues

- Ability to learn new software and hardware applications

- Customer service skills
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
Must have Pro-Board (NPQ) Firefighter I and Firefighter II (Include a copy with your information); high school graduate or equivalent.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONSAssociate's degree in Fire Science, Emergency Management, Healthcare Management or closely related field; three (3) years of work experience in a closely related field;
Georgia State Office of Emergency Medical Services Trauma Level I, II or III Instructor license; experience in Banner, Blackboard and MS Office; NFPA 1403 Live Fire Instructor; and/or previous work experience in a post-secondary educational environment.
NOTE: This is a temporary, part-time position that is appointed on a per-academic-term basis. This is an hourly-paid position; up to 29 hours per week while classes are in session.
