Job Description
- The Senior Engineer position specializing in production equipment, equipment design, or other areas as applicable including research and design of new products and systems. Work assignments vary and are difficult in character and involve significant responsibility.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide extensive, directly applicable technical expertise focused on production equipment.
- Perform specific analytical calculations involving algebra, trigonometry, and geometry to determine if a project is cost effective.
- Handle multiple, specific technical applications and concepts.
- Create and evaluate designs using data collection and analysis, engineering calculations, testing, etc.
- Work closely with engineers and production personnel in transitioning conceptual designs to an implemental state.
- Maximize use of computer systems and advanced computer-aided skills (e.g. CAD: 3-D geometry, solid models, surfacing, layouts) to design based on engineering sketches and/or specifications.
- Evaluate existing products and systems and formulates how to improve usability, safety, strength, reliability, look and feel, efficiency, cost, maintenance, and life span.
- Creates technical plans based on research of prototypes.
- Modifies designs and retests to ensure they are ready to manufacture.
- Composes and presents regular progress reports.

- BSc/BA in Engineering
- Solid Works CSWP required, CSWE a plus
- 5+ years of related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Extensive knowledge of engineering principles and procedures.
- Experience with project management and team leadership.
- Familiarity with industry-specific technologies and development tools.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Act independently to determine methods and procedures on new assignments. Often acts as a facilitator and team leader.

- This role is primarily office-based but may involve travel to project sites or meetings with customers.
- Continually required to stand, walk, sit, bend, balance, kneel, crawl, and utilize hand and finger dexterity.
- Occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions (non-weather related).
- Frequently works near moving mechanical parts.
- Occasionally works around fumes, airborne particles, or toxic chemicals.
- While performing the duties of this job, the noise level in the work environment can exceed 120 decibels (dBA).
