The Radiology OR Technician is responsible for providing high-quality intraoperative imaging support using a C-Arm in an outpatient orthopaedic surgery environment. This role ensures accurate imaging, patient safety, and efficient workflow within the operating room. The ideal candidate has strong experience with C-Arm operation, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with surgeons, nurses, and surgical staff.
Key Responsibilities- Operate C-Arm fluoroscopy equipment during orthopaedic surgical procedures, ensuring optimal image quality and proper positioning.
- Collaborate closely with surgeons and OR staff to anticipate imaging needs and adjust equipment accordingly.
- Adhere to all radiation safety protocols, including appropriate shielding and exposure‑minimization practices for patients and staff.
- Prepare, inspect, and maintain radiologic equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation.
- Assist with patient positioning and support safe transfers as needed.
- Verify patient information and imaging requirements prior to each procedure.
- Document imaging performed and maintain accurate records in accordance with facility standards.
- Support overall OR workflow, including room turnover and equipment readiness.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and compliant work environment following all regulatory and accreditation guidelines.
- Participate in ongoing training and continuing education to remain current with best practices and technology.
- ARRT certification required (R.T.(R)).
- State radiologic technologist license (as applicable).
- Minimum 1–2 years of experience operating a C-Arm in a surgical or interventional setting, preferably orthopaedics.
- Strong understanding of sterile technique and OR protocols.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast‑paced surgical environment.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Commitment to patient safety and high‑quality imaging.
- Ability to stand for extended periods.
- Ability to lift and move equipment and assist with patient positioning as needed.
Outpatient orthopaedic surgery center with weekday hours; no nights, weekends, or major holidays (may vary by facility).
