Housekeeping

Purpose

To perform the daily activities of the Housekeeping Department in accordance with current standards, ensuring the community is maintained in a clean, safe, and sanitary manner. The role includes maintaining an adequate supply of linen to meet residents' needs.

Essential Functions

• Ensure the community is clean, orderly, and attractive.
• Follow the housekeeping schedule established by the Housekeeping Director.
• Clean all common areas and resident rooms, including dusting, vacuuming, and making beds.
• Be familiar with Material Safety Data Sheets for all cleaning supplies.
• Attend annual training sessions.
• Comply with Residents’ Rights rules.
• Properly clean and store equipment, work, and supply carts.
• Maintain adequate laundry and linen supplies and inform the Maintenance Director of needs.
• Perform other tasks as assigned by management.
• Participate in orientation, training, staff meetings, and departmental projects.
• Follow work and cleaning schedules.
• Report incidents and accidents to the Maintenance Director.
• Coordinate laundry services with other departments as needed.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older.
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
• Patience, tact, enthusiasm, and a positive attitude toward the elderly.
• Upper body strength to lift and move articles over 25 pounds.
• Ability to squat, reach, stretch, and tolerate extended periods of walking and standing.
