As an PH HIV Prevention/Linkage to Care/PrEP Coordinator within the District Two PH HIV Prevention program within our 13 counties. At District 2 Public Health, you will join a dedicated group of public health professionals that help support the overall mission and vision of protecting lives of Georgian residents in a variety of ways. District 2 Public Health serves 13 counties in northeast Georgia, including Banks, Dawson, Forsyth, Franklin, Habersham, Hall, Hart, Lumpkin, Rabun, Stephens, Towns, Union, and White counties.

Responsibilities

HIV Coordinator (EPI) 1:

  • Under supervision, plans, develops, and conducts epidemiologic investigations, surveillance and interventions limited in scope and/or complexity to determine the causes of diseases and implement methods of disease control.
  • Collects, analyzes, and interprets statistical data and prepares epidemiologic reports.

Clinical & Non-clinical additional duties but not limited to:

  • Implements district-wide clinical, opt-out confidential HIV rapid testing services.
  • Collaborates with District staff to ensure that all clients who receive a preliminary positive HIV test result also receive a confirmatory test result.
  • Promotes and encourages complete STI screenings with an emphasis on syphilis and Hepatitis C testing.
  • Ensures that clients identified as HIV infected be linked to HIV care, specifically Ryan White HIV care if they qualify.
  • Ensures that every confirmed HIV positive client has documentation linking them to care.
  • Keeps all certifications, continuing education, trainings, and licenses current as mandated by position requirements.
  • Coordinates a minimum of four outreach and community mobilization efforts annually.
  • Complies with the Office of HIV/AIDS “List of Minimum Quality Standards for HIV Prevention”.
  • Participates in quarterly updates, conference calls, meetings, and trainings facilitated and supported by job duties and assigned by manager.
  • Completes “HIS Health” training within the first three months from date of hire.
