The Lead Packer oversees the packing process to ensure product quality, adherence to safety guidelines, and operational efficiency. This role involves supervising other packers, performing quality inspections, coordinating with line mechanics ensuring machine setups, and maintaining cleanliness in the work area. The Lead Packer plays a critical role as the final quality control inspector before products are shipped.

• Pack completed products into appropriate shippers. Ensure proper handling to maintain product integrity.
• Verify product codes for accuracy and legibility. Perform quality inspections on materials and finished goods, rejecting substandard items.
• Provide guidance and relief to packers during breaks and lunches. Assist in training new packers to maintain team efficiency. Delegate cleaning duties to other packers during changeovers and/or any other specified tasks needed to be completed during changeover.
• Perform basic maintenance and adjustments to equipment as needed.
• Identify root causes of defects and perform rework to minimize waste.
• Maintain a clean and safe work area in compliance with company safety standards.
• Some duties may vary slightly by location.

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent. (Required)

• Less than 1 year of related experience preferred. (Preferred)

• Understanding of material flow and machine operations. (High proficiency)
• Familiarity with quality standards, safety rules, and company policies. (High proficiency)
• Team collaboration skills and ability to supervise effectively. (High proficiency)
• Packing processes and quality standards. (High proficiency)
• Safety regulations and equipment handling. (High proficiency)
• Problem‑solving and judgment in handling machine setups and quality issues. (High proficiency)
• Continuous alertness and attention to detail for repetitive tasks. (High proficiency)
• Physical ability to lift up to 60 lbs and sustain prolonged standing or movement. (High proficiency)
• Effective communication, both written and verbal. (Medium proficiency)
• Ability to read, write, and perform basic math. (Medium proficiency)
