Job Summary

The Shipping and Receiving Lead is responsible for coordinating and performing all shipping, receiving, and material‑handling activities, including loading and unloading trucks, moving raw materials and finished goods, verifying shipments, preparing outgoing orders, and maintaining accurate records. The role ensures efficient movement of materials throughout production, safe operation of powered industrial equipment, and compliance with company procedures. This position reports directly to the Department Manager.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications (Required)
  • Ability to operate pallet jacks and powered industrial equipment (certification required).
  • Ability to perform shipping, receiving, material handling, and data‑entry tasks assigned by the supervisor.
  • Must be able to communicate clearly with vendors, drivers, and coworkers.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
  • Strong focus, attention to detail, and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Must have excellent attendance and punctuality.
  • Must be able to work first shift, 5–7 days per week, including overtime as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 1–2 years of experience in a shipping, receiving, warehouse, or manufacturing environment.
  • Familiarity with shipping documentation, inventory systems, and data entry.
  • Strong time‑management, organization, and multitasking skills.
  • Self‑motivated with the ability to learn multiple tasks.
Key Responsibilities

NOTE:

  • Load outgoing trucks with finished goods and unload incoming trucks with raw materials, packaging, and ingredients.
  • Move raw products, batter/breading, packaging, and finished goods between production and storage areas.
  • Manually wrap pallets with stretch film, wrapping up to 62 pallets per shift (up to 82 inches high).
  • Assemble, address, stamp, and prepare shipments for outbound delivery.
  • Receive, unpack, verify, and record incoming shipments and materials.
  • Enter receiving and shipping data accurately into the inventory system.
  • Maintain accurate and organized shipping/receiving documentation.
  • Communicate effectively with vendors, carriers, and internal departments.
  • Operate in accordance with all safety procedures, food safety policies, and company guidelines.
  • Perform additional duties as requested or assigned by the Department Manager.
