The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for directing and managing all maintenance employees on their assigned shift while ensuring operational objectives provided by management are met. This role requires leadership, technical expertise, and the ability to promote a safe and efficient work environment while ensuring company standards, procedures, and quality requirements are consistently followed.
Qualifications• One to three years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment, with a strong working knowledge of industrial maintenance and electrical functions.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, proficiency in English (reading and writing), and the ability to communicate effectively with diverse teams.
• Bilingual skills in English and Spanish are helpful but not required.
• Strong interpersonal and leadership skills, proficiency in computer use, and analytical problem‑solving.
• Flexibility in scheduling, including weekend rotation, is required.
• Self‑motivated, detail‑oriented, capable of mentoring and motivating team members.
• A High School Diploma or GED is required; a college degree or technical certification is preferred.
The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for mentoring, training, and motivating maintenance employees to optimize performance and growth, while ensuring all safety, security, GMP, sanitation, and discipline regulations are followed. This includes assigning and ensuring completion of work orders for Maintenance Technicians, communicating performance standards, recognizing and rewarding accomplishments, and counseling performance issues when necessary. The role also involves facilitating employee meetings and training, ensuring documentation is properly completed, and monitoring compliance with company standards, quality guidelines, and QA/HACCP procedures.
Supervisors must perform all required safety checks and other duties as assigned by management to maintain efficient and safe operations.
This position operates in a combination of office and shop floor environments. Supervisors will be exposed to hot and cold temperatures, wet and dry environments, as well as dust, odors, oil, fumes, and noise.
Physical DemandsEmployees in this role must be able to work and move for at least 8 hours, with repetitive bending, twisting, lifting, reaching, sitting, and grasping. The position requires lifting and moving items of varying weights and sizes, working in temperature ranges between 50 and 90 °F with ambient humidity, and maintaining stamina in demanding physical conditions. Regular exposure to dust, water, fumes, and cleaning chemicals is required.
