About

The Role

Cardiovascular Intermediate Care Unit (CVIMC) is a 24-bed telemetry unit monitored by the Central Monitoring Unit (CMU). The types of patients on this unit include pre-open heart surgery and other cardiovascular and thoracic surgery patients, stable post-op Open-Heart and related procedures, pre- and post-cardiac catheterization patients, pre- and post-cardiac interventions (including pacemaker insertions and ICD implantations), interventional peripheral and renal angioplasty patients requiring sheath care and removal, patients with arterial and venous sheath care, monitoring and removal, treatment of patients with cardiac arrhythmia, and pre- and post electrophysiology and ablation therapy, including valve replacement procedures such as TAVR.

Work within a multidisciplinary team providing direct patient care and coordinating care for assigned patients on a shift to achieve clinical outcomes.

  • Communication: effectively communicates with patients, families, and all members of the healthcare team; uses safety behaviors and error prevention tools.
  • Continuous improvement: creates an environment of open dialogue, seeks feedback, identifies opportunities for quality improvement, and applies evidence-based practice.
  • Education and mentorship: supports unit-based sharing of knowledge; serves as a resource for students and fosters professional growth.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Licensure:
    Licensed to practice as an RN in Georgia
  • Educational Requirements:

    Associate's Degree, ADN or Diploma required
  • Experience:

    At least 1 year of RN experience with demonstrated competence
Preferred Qualifications
  • BSN preferred
Knowledge,
