Registered Nurse - RN - Resource Pool - Preop/PACU - Gainesville / Lumpkin / Habersham - Full Time - 7:00 am - 5:30 pm

Job Summary: Capable clinician with previous specialty experience preferred, focused on expanding knowledge and skills. Consistently provides effective direct care as part of the interdisciplinary team to a variety of complex patients. Seeks as well as provides feedback for improved clinical practice. Assumes a beginning clinical bedside leadership role and seeks mentoring in this process. Provides professional input in shared governance, participates in quality teams, and helps improve nursing indicators, satisfaction, engagement, safety, and patient experience.

Works together with other care team members to recruit and retain an excellent nursing care team.

Minimum

Job Qualifications:

  • Licensed to practice as an RN in Georgia
  • Associates Degree
  • At least 2 years of RN experience – Demonstrated competence in RN I performance expectations or meets experience requirements upon hire

Preferred

Job Qualifications:

  • National certification in clinical specialty
  • Bachelor of Nursing Degree
  • Long Term Care:
    One year experience
  • Membership in a professional organization

Essential Tasks And Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrates basic assessment skills and the five rights of medication administration; manages care and progresses to more complex patients; documents nursing process accurately in the electronic medical record; follows DNV standards and policies; evaluates patient response and adjusts care; coordinates interdisciplinary care; uses resources efficiently; participates in PI processes and DNV compliance; coordinates discharge planning; promotes a culture of safety.
  • Includes patient and family in care; provides effective education; demonstrates customer service behaviors; participates in unit and organizational customer service initiatives.
  • Plans patient care based on assessment; prioritizes and manages time; evaluates interventions and seeks support; uses resources; recognizes deteriorating patient signals; accesses appropriate resources; reads EBP articles; participates in discharge planning; anticipates changes and takes action while maintaining composure; recognizes nursing practice trends.
  • Supports unit goals; participates in shared governance; completes professional development plan; supervises and delegates tasks; consults with interdisciplinary team; serves in unit leadership roles; serves as Nurse in Charge as needed, managing patient flow, resource allocation, and escalation.
