Position Overview:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Marine Technician to perform maintenance, repair, and inspection services on a wide range of boats and marine engines. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, excellent problem-solving skills, and a passion for ensuring that every boat performs at its best.

Key Responsibilities:

Maintenance and Repairs:
Perform routine maintenance and repair work on various marine engines and systems, including electrical, mechanical, and propulsion systems.

Diagnostics:
Use diagnostic tools and techniques to identify and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues.

Inspection:
Conduct thorough inspections of boats and engines to ensure they meet safety and performance standards.

Customer Service:
Communicate with customers to explain repair needs, provide estimates, and offer recommendations for maintenance or upgrades.

Documentation:
Maintain accurate records of all service work performed, including parts used, labor hours, and any additional findings.

Compliance:
Ensure that all work adheres to manufacturer specifications and industry regulations.

Parts Management:
Order and manage parts inventory as needed to perform repairs and maintenance efficiently.

Team

Collaboration:

Work closely with other technicians and service staff to ensure timely and high-quality service delivery.

Qualifications:

Education:

High school diploma or equivalent; certification or degree in marine technology or a related field is preferred.

Experience:

Proven experience as a marine technician or mechanic, with a strong understanding of marine engines and systems.

Skills:

Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and repair equipment; excellent problem-solving abilities; strong attention to detail and manual dexterity.

Certifications:

Relevant certifications (e.g., Marine Mechanics Certification) are a plus.

Passion: A keen interest in boating and marine technology is highly desirable.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED is required

Associate degree or completion of an automotive service technician training program is preferred

Automotive Service Excellence/ASE certification or Society of Automotive Engineers/SAE certification is preferred

Strong customer service and communication skills are required
