Role Description

This is a full‑time, on‑site Bilingual Advocate role based in Gainesville, GA. The Advocate will provide direct services to survivors of domestic violence including crisis intervention, assistance with shelter intake processes, legal advocacy, and emotional support. Responsibilities include facilitating group support sessions, assisting with translations, coordinating resources, and maintaining accurate documentation. The role requires effective communication with both English and Spanish‑speaking clients while collaborating with community partners to advocate for survivors and facilitate access to additional services.

Qualifications
  • Proficiency in both English and Spanish, with strong verbal and written communication skills in both languages
  • Experience in crisis intervention, case management, or direct client support
  • Familiarity with community resources and skills in advocacy and resource coordination
  • Empathy, active listening skills, and the ability to maintain confidentiality while offering emotional support
  • Organizational skills, attention to detail, and proficiency with documentation and record‑keeping
  • Knowledge of the dynamics of domestic violence, gender‑based violence, or trauma‑informed care is an advantage
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team‑oriented environment
  • Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or a related field is preferred but not required
  • Experience in similar roles within non‑profit organizations or advocacy roles is a plus
