Staff Accountant​/Bookkeeper

Located in Gainesville, TX, Terra-Vaults has been a dynamic, growing company since 2022, and has continued to experience growth since our inception.

We are a leading manufacturer of high-performance underground enclosures, engineered for durability, safety, and long-term reliability. Our FRP and Polymer Concrete product lines are designed to meet the evolving needs of the telecommunications, electrical, and utility sectors (i.e. fiber optic networks, data transmission lines, etc).

Position Overview: We are looking for a reliable and detail-oriented Staff Accountant and/or Bookkeeper to manage our day-to-day financial operations. This role goes beyond basic bookkeeping—supporting accounting, payroll, financial reports, tax laws, and general office administration as needed. The role also involves advising on company growth and improvement and establishing and maintaining accounting procedures. The ideal candidate is hands-on, organized, and able to keep accurate records while contributing to the overall success of the business.

This position will report to the General Manager, CFO, and Controller of the organization. The Controller will assist in training and transitioning the person for this position. This is a privately held company where internal communication with all employees is necessary.

Key Responsibilities

• Record and categorize daily financial transactions and journal entries in accounting software.
• Manage the accounting cycle, including accounts payable/receivable, payroll processing, and reconciliations.
• Manage and work with AR/AP staff to ensure payments and invoices are processed on a timely basis.
• In coordination with the reconciliation of accounts, experience and/or understanding to conduct monthly and year-end financial closings, including trial balances.
• Monitor cash flow and provide regular updates to ownership.
• Prepare basic financial reports (income statement, balance sheet, expense reports).
• Organize and maintain financial files and receipts for tax purposes.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and executive reporting in coordination with the Controller.
• Preparing and Filing Sales Tax Returns on a monthly/quarterly/annual basis.
• Communicate with the company's accountant or CPA during tax season and audits.

Required Qualifications

• Previous bookkeeping or accounting experience in a small business setting.
• Proficiency with accounting software (Net Suite preferred) and Microsoft Excel.
• Understanding of basic accounting and payroll principles.
• Strong organizational and problem-solving skills, attention to detail, good communication.
• Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications

• Associate's or BA degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (not required).
• Experience working with small business taxes and payroll systems.
• Business experience as an Accountant/Bookkeeper will be considered as an option to a degree.
