The Field Engineer 1 is responsible for assisting in the execution and optimization of hydraulic fracturing operations at the well site. This entry‑level position provides technical support to the field team, ensuring safe and efficient fracturing activities. The role involves a combination of fieldwork, data analysis, and interaction with various operational teams to deliver high‑quality services to clients in the oil and gas industry.
KeyRoles / Responsibilities
- Assist in the setup, monitoring, and execution of fracturing operations at the well site.
- Collaborate with field personnel to ensure proper functioning of equipment and adherence to safety protocols.
- Monitor and record operational parameters, ensuring alignment with job design and client specifications.
- Gather and analyze real‑time data during fracturing operations, including pressure, flow rates, and chemical usage.
- Utilize specialized software to model fracturing processes and optimize job performance.
- Provide recommendations based on data analysis to enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness.
- Assist in the maintenance and troubleshooting of fracturing equipment, including pumps, blenders, and data acquisition systems.
- Ensure that all equipment is calibrated and functioning correctly before operations commence.
- Coordinate with maintenance teams to schedule repairs and preventive maintenance.
- Adhere to all company and client HSE policies and procedures.
- Participate in safety meetings, job hazard analyses, and risk assessments.
- Report any incidents, near misses, or safety concerns to the supervisor immediately.
- Interface with clients at the well site, providing updates on job progress and addressing any concerns.
- Prepare and present post‑job reports, highlighting key performance metrics and recommendations for future operations.
- Stay updated with the latest industry trends, technologies, and best practices in hydraulic fracturing.
- Attend training sessions and workshops to enhance technical knowledge and skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in petroleum engineering, mechanical engineering, chemical engineering, or a related field.
- Entry‑level position: internships or co‑op experience in oilfield services, hydraulic fracturing, or related areas is preferred.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
- Proficiency in data analysis software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in a fast‑paced, high‑pressure environment.
- Bending, lifting, climbing, pushing, pulling, kneeling, sitting, standing, walking, stooping, squatting, crawling, and other physical movements for extended periods.
- Moderate to heavy lifting and carrying required.
- Must be able to work in confined spaces such as trenches, pits, manholes, attics, and tunnels with manual dexterity.
