General

Description

Performs advanced (senior‑level) managerial work in treatment consultation and technical assistance. Provides leadership and guidance to all direct care staff regarding ongoing implementation and maintenance of all aspects of The Texas Model. Works closely with executive‑level administrators, half‑way house administration, and other staff to support Texas Model implementation at the assigned facility, consistent with safety and security and the principles of the Texas Model.

Responsibilities include demonstration of DBT methods and practices, creation and coordination of resources to support staff learning, assessing staff progress, supporting supervisors in evaluating staff knowledge, skills and abilities, collaborating with Texas Model Mentors at other facilities, working across the intervention continuum (individual sessions, groups, milieu, meetings) to model, coach and support implementation, maintaining situational understanding of the facility’s progress, replicating operational successes, addressing implementation issues, maintaining communication with the Director of Structured Programming and accountability, and the Facility Superintendent and Assistant Superintendent.

Acts as a resource for staff to assist with program needs, including providing toolkits, training materials, handbooks, facilitation of facility implementation plans, adherence to guidelines, procedure, rules, and regulations, and establishing priorities, standards, and measurement tools for progress.

Essential Duties

Provides leadership and consultation on all aspects of TJJD’s implementation of Dialectical Behavioral Therapy within the rehabilitative milieu. Manages, mentors, models, and coaches elements of the Texas Model to staff and youth. Provides direction, guidance, and assistance to staff and youth in program areas.
