Questech Recruitment are currently recruiting for a Electrical Bias Maintenance Engineer to join the team at one of our clients based in Gainsborough. This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing team and make a real difference.
The role:
We are looking for a multi-skilled maintenance engineer with an electrical bias and a strong mechanical background to join the engineering team within a fast-paced poultry processing facility. The role is hands-on and involves maintaining, fault-finding, and improving production and site services equipment to ensure safe and reliable operation.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Respond promptly to breakdowns and carry out effective electrical and mechanical fault-finding
Maintain and repair production machinery including conveyors, evisceration equipment, packing machinery and chillers
Complete planned preventative maintenance activities and support continuous improvement
Fault-find on PLC-controlled systems, motors, drives, sensors, and control panels (programming not required)
Carry out mechanical tasks including work on gearboxes, bearings, pneumatics, hydraulics, and basic fabrication
Ensure all work is completed in line with food safety, hygiene, and health and safety standards
Accurately record maintenance activities using the site CMMS
Support shutdowns, installations, and site engineering projects
Work closely with production and hygiene teams to minimise downtime
Skills & Experience:
Qualified multi-skilled engineer with a strong electrical bias
Recognised electrical qualification such as NVQ Level 3, City and Guilds, or equivalent
Strong mechanical fault-finding background within a manufacturing environment
Experience with in food, FMCG, or poultry processing environments preferred
Good working knowledge of PLC fault-finding, motors, inverters, sensors, and control systems
Experience working with pneumatics and hydraulics
Good understanding of permit-to-work, isolation, and lock-off procedures
Ability to work safely and effectively in a high-volume production environment
