Teacher, Literacy Instructional Coach, Harriet R. Tubman ES, 1.0 FTE – Montgomery County Public Schools.
Under the direction of the school principal, plans and provides appropriate learning experiences for students in designated subject areas (e.g., math, reading). Fosters an environment supportive of the intellectual, physical, social, and emotional development of students to promote Success for Every Student. Supervises students in various school settings, monitors and evaluates student outcomes, and communicates with students, parents, staff, and community.
Develops, selects, and modifies instructional plans and materials to meet the needs of all students; maintains records and follows required procedures and practices; and monitors the use and care of equipment, materials, and facilities.
- Plan and provide learning experiences in designated subject areas.
- Create an environment conducive to comprehensive student development.
- Supervise students across school settings and monitor outcomes.
- Communicate with students, parents, staff, and community.
- Develop, adapt, and implement instructional plans and materials for diverse learners.
- Maintain records and ensure compliance with procedures; oversee equipment, materials, and facilities.

- Knowledge of MCPS curriculum, integration techniques, policies, and effective instructional practices.
- Understanding of the teaching/learning process with ability to teach from multiple perspectives and with multicultural education.
- Ability to infuse technology into the curriculum.
- Ability to work effectively with administrators, colleagues, central office staff, students, parents, and the community.
- Excellent oral and written communication and human relations skills.
- Knowledge and application of the MCPS Teacher Professional Growth System standards (TPGS) and SEIU PPSGS.
- Bachelor’s degree in an applicable field of education from an accredited college or university.
- Meets Maryland state certification requirements in the appropriate field of education.
