- Teach engaging curriculum using company‑created materials designed for advanced students in small class settings.
- Actively involve students in each class or support student‑led learning activities.
- Manage classrooms of up to 16 students, maintaining an orderly learning environment.
- Grade and provide constructive feedback on tests and assignments.
- Build relationships with students and families to sustain a lasting impact on their educational journeys.
- Encourage a love for learning and critical thinking in language arts.
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- A Bachelor’s degree in education or a humanities field is strongly preferred.
- Strong content knowledge in reading, writing and/or grammar.
- Preferred: classroom teaching experience at the K‑12 level.
- Experience teaching or tutoring students.
- A formal teaching credential is not required for this position.
- After‑school program with classes in the evenings and on weekends; availability required during weekday after‑school hours (as early as 4 pm) and/or on weekends.
- Minimum initial commitment of about 3 hours per week for each assigned class.
- Each course meets once per week for 1 hour 45 minutes.
- In‑person position at our Gaithersburg location.
- Candidates must be located in Gaithersburg, Maryland or the greater area and must be able to commute to our campus.
- Hourly Rate: $34/hour.
