The ideal candidate will be an exceptionally talented, knowledgeable, and motivated pharmacist with extensive experience with health-system pharmacy operations. The candidate must exemplify an understanding of medication safety standards, process improvement, education/training, and process improvement standards. The candidate must demonstrate a mastery of hospital experience and understand regulatory oversight.
DutiesAs a Supervisory Pharmacist working in the Medication Safety Section, within the Pharmacy Department, your major duties will include but are not limited to: Serving as the Chief of this section supervising Supervisory Pharmacists, Pharmacists and Pharmacy Technicians; planning and assigning work and evaluating work performance and training needs of subordinates; developing and leading implementation of drug information and policy strategies based on practice standards, literature review, medication safety and care of patients and the research mission of the Clinical Center;
ensuring compliance with state and federal regulatory and legal requirements relating to medication safety, and assisting in the accreditation process by ensuring the organization's medication-use processes meet applicable medication management standards and national patient safety goals; designing, implementing and evaluating learning experiences for all staff levels to acquire, maintain, or increase their knowledge and competence; consulting with and advising specific clinical teams and the hospital and health systems generally on medication safety opportunities and strategies to improve patient care.
