Adventist Health Care seeks to hire an experienced Billing Specialist for our Patient Financial Services department who will embrace our mission to extend God’s care through the ministry of physical, mental, and spiritual healing.
Responsibilities- Reviews and bills assigned accounts daily.
- Bills electronic and hardcopy claims.
- Submits adjusted claims due to audits, changes to charges, diagnosis, billing codes, and DRG.
- Bills both UB04 and/or 1500 forms to third party payers daily.
- Works closely with Clinical Coders when issues arise due to coding edits.
- Files all secondary and tertiary claims after primary claims have paid.
- Assists in downloads and other duties specific to billing.
- Work all assigned claims daily by resolving edits, payer rejections, validating claim errors, and forwarding claims to other departments as needed.
- Appropriately documents electronic billing system and/or patient accounting system.
- Handles all customer calls both internal and external in a professional and courteous manner.
- High School Diploma required; some college preferred.
- Billing certification or minimum of 2 years’ experience required in a hospital or doctor’s office.
- Frequent pressure due to time constraints
- Frequently works at PC involving focused concentration.
- Frequent walking, standing, bending, kneeling/crouching, sitting etc.
- Light physical effort (lifts or carries up to 10lbs)
- Atmosphere and environment associated with an office setting.
- Must maintain a professional appearance and demeanor at all times.

Pay Range$20.07 - $26.42
If the salary range is listed as $0 or if the position is Per Diem (with a fixed rate), salary discussions will take place during the screening process.
