Scientist, Biomedical Genomics

ATCC is seeking a Scientist who will contribute to the implementation and computational analysis of omics data and next‑generation sequencing projects. The role requires expertise in analyzing large datasets, bridging data science and medicine, and building robust code bases for RNA‑seq, transcriptomics, WES, and WGS analysis.

• Design and conduct experimental studies to support scientific discovery.
• Initiate, direct, and execute research and development strategies.
• Evaluate feasibility of scientific concepts for problem‑solving and innovation.
• Maintain scientific integrity and stay informed on advancements.

• Plan and execute lab research, troubleshoot technical issues, and manage DNA/RNA sequence databases.
• Record, analyze, and interpret study data.
• Translate experimental protocols into SOPs and analytical work plans.

• Develop research documentation including reports, presentations, and publications.
• Disseminate findings to internal and external audiences.
• Support grant/contract proposals and internal R&D projects.
• Facilitate technology transfer across business units.

• PhD in a Scientific Discipline or Engineering Equivalent and 2–5 years’ experience or equivalent experience.
• Demonstrated expertise using command line to interact with Windows and Linux operating systems.
• Experience with scripting languages (Python, R, Perl, Ruby, Java).
• Experience with biomedical genomics data science.
• Familiarity with cloud computing platforms like AWS or Google Cloud for bioinformatics applications.
• Ability to create visualizations (line plots, bar charts, histograms, scatter plots, heat maps).
• Strong understanding of next‑generation sequencing (NGS).
• Preferred: track record of bioinformatics applications, libraries, and custom scripts.
• Preferred: familiarity with Linux HPC environments.
• Preferred: experience with machine learning techniques and their application to biological data.

The expected salary range for this position is $105,000 to $115,000 annually. Actual compensation will be determined based on experience and qualifications as well as internal equity and alignment with market data. In addition to base salary, this role may be eligible for additional incentive compensation including regular merit increases and the corporate bonus program.
