Job PurposeThe SAP Solution Architect provides expert guidance on SAP technology infrastructure, ensuring alignment with IT strategies and business objectives. This role evaluates and maintains the SAP infrastructure roadmap, leads major technology assignments, supervises technical staff, and recommends changes to optimize system performance, capacity, and cost efficiency. The position functions as a technical authority across multiple high-impact projects, applying expertise in SAP architecture, integration, and system management.
Key Responsibilities- Plan and lead major SAP technology assignments and infrastructure initiatives.
- Apply expert technical knowledge across multiple projects to ensure optimal performance and efficiency.
- Evaluate system performance results and recommend changes to support project growth and success.
- Supervise, mentor, and lead staff across different technical levels.
- Maintain expertise in SAP architecture, including SAP Basis, security, integration technologies, Net Weaver, development workbench, and SAP CCMS tools.
- Guide SAP sizing, workload characterization, and capacity planning efforts.
- Ensure alignment of SAP infrastructure with IT strategy, corporate standards, and business objectives.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to provide technical guidance and implement best practices for SAP environments.
- 9+ years of experience in SAP or other ERP/COTS technologies.
- Expertise in SAP Basis, SAP Security, SAP integration, development workbench, and SAP CCMS management.
- Experience with HP-UX UNIX, Oracle RDBMS, and Windows 2000/2003 platforms.
- Knowledge of Web infrastructure, Net Weaver architecture, SAP Data Dictionary, SAP Solution Manager, transport management, and Oracle physical design for SAP.
- Strong technical and management leadership skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field, or 4 additional years of relevant experience in lieu of degree.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD clearance.
- Experience with federal environments, DoD, and Navy ERP systems.
- Knowledge of CRS, CS, IPAC, or CIR Navy systems.
- Subject Matter Expert (SME) experience in one or more SAP functional modules.
- Strong focus on customer service and responsiveness, with the ability to manage complex stakeholder interactions.
